Host a Blood Drive

Support the Community in a Uniquely Satisfying Way

Blood donation is one of the few ways that you can literally "give of yourself" to make a difference in someone else's life.  This simple fact makes blood donation truly unique when it comes to supporting the community.

Every day, blood recipients at the 32 hospitals in our Tri-State area rely on the generosity of others who donate their time and life-saving blood to provide the minimum 350 units of blood needed.

Hosting a blood drive at your business, church, school or through a community group is an easy and gratifying way to demonstrate your commitment to civic responsibility and the community in which you live.

We make it very easy.  We come to you in almost all instances!

Start Planning Your Own Blood Drive!

Your first step in the planning process will be to contact our Donor Recruitment/Community Relations department at 513-558-1280.

Hoxworth Blood Center will then assign you a trained Mobile Donor Unit Recruiter who will work with you to plan your blood drive and ensure its success.

Based on the projected size of your group and type of drive,  your Mobile Donor Unit Recruiter will suggest an inside drive, a mobile bus, or in some cases, suggest using one of our nine Neighborhood Donor Centers.  Whatever is the most convenient for your purposes.

This Mobile Donor Unit Recruiter will also provide you with the necessary information and tools to make your drive successful.  The information covered will include such topics as:

- Basic recruitment techniques and tips for running a successful blood drive.

- Blood drive space requirements and timetables.

- Material and promotional support.

For more general information about hosting your own blood drive, you may download and read the Coordinator Blood Drive Planning Booklet
