38th Annual WEBN Blood Drive

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati has partnered once again with WEBN to host the 38th Annual WEBN Blood Drive on Saturday, January 23rd.  “This blood drive has continued to grow in participation” says Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson.  “Therefore, we are expanding the blood drive to three of our Neighborhood Donor Centers this year”.

The blood drive will be held on Saturday, January 23rd between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm at the following three donor centers: 

Hoxworth Blue Ash, 4310 Hunt Road

Hoxworth Ft. Mitchell, Ft. Mitchell Station, 2220 Grandview Drive

Hoxworth Tri-County, Wimbledon Plaza, 11812 Springfield Pike/Route 4

All donors will receive a pair of tickets to Shadowbox Cabaret and be entered to a variety of prizes such as,  A Cricket Wireless Phone and 1 year of Service, Front Row Seats to the WEBN Fireworks, Wii Gaming System.  As an added bonus, Bob the Producer will hold a meet & greet at Hoxworth Tri-County between 10:00am and 12:00 noon.

How to Donate:

Donating blood is safe and easy. You must be at least 17- years-old (16-years old with a signed parental consent) and in good health. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is on a campaign to recruit 100,000 Donors, 100,000 Heroes. Founded in 1938, Hoxworth serves 32 hospitals in 17 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana.  Annually, Hoxworth collects over 90,000 units of blood from local donors.  At least 350 volunteer blood donors and 40 volunteer platelet donors are essential each day to keep up with the demands of tri-state hospitals and their patients.
