Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is teaming up with the Cincinnati Cyclones this November to help ensure a steady, life-saving blood supply for patients across the Tristate.
 
        
    Hoxworth Blood Center, an internationally-recognized leader in transfusion medicine, was founded in 1938 and is currently the oldest operating blood bank in the country. Hoxworth serves more than 30 area hospitals and medical centers and collects more than 100,000 units of blood products to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals.

11/2 - Blood Drive in Support of Tyler Darringer - Donate in memory of Tyler, a beloved 17-year-old East Central High School student.
11/6 - Cincinnati Art Museum Blood Drive – Give blood surrounded by art! Donors receive special gifts, museum perks, and a Cyclones hoodie. Hosted by Cincinnati Art Museum, Taft Museum of Art, and Contemporary Arts Center!
Hoxworth Blood Center serves over 30 hospitals in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, providing blood and service to the entire region while remaining self-sufficient and financially sound.
As a division of the University of Cincinnati as well as a trusted partner of University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Hoxworth promotes and supports research to help save lives.
Hoxworth’s patient services division improves the health of individuals through services such as Therapeutic Apheresis, Red Blood Cell Exchange and Photopheresis
I am so thankful that there are amazing, selfless, lifesaving heroes out there that are willing to donate their blood. Without these donations, I wouldn’t be here to celebrate life’s many tiny miracles.

America’s Blood Centers (ABC) reports approximately 205 emergency medical service (EMS) agencies, or 1% in the U.S., have prehospital transfusion programs. Hoxworth Blood Center is now one of 34 ABC members to join this mission of saving lives in a prehospital setting.

University of Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center, in partnership with Blood Cancer United (formerly Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), is proud to announce the 2025 Light the Night community event at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Yeatman’s Cove.
