Parental Consent
Getting ready to donate blood is an exciting step toward making a lifesaving impact! We’re here to help you every step of the way.
All 16-year-old blood donors must have a parental consent form signed in ink. Parental consent is not required for individuals 17 years of age or older.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs., and feel generally well and healthy. Females under the age of 18 can donate once in 12-month period, while males under the age of 18 can donate four times in a 12-month period.

Once you’ve confirmed you’re eligible to donate, it’s time to set yourself up for success! Preparing for your donation starts before you even arrive.
The day before your appointment, be sure to drink plenty of fluids, enjoy some salty snacks, and get a good night’s rest. On donation day, eat a well-balanced meal and don’t forget to bring your ID, your QuickPass, and a signed consent form if you’re 16 years old.
After your donation, take time to recharge. Grab a snack, drink fluids, and get plenty of rest. Follow these simple steps to make the most of your experience as a High School Hoxworth Hero!
