Mobile Operation Assistant

We have an immediate need for a Mobile Operation Assistant to assist the medical mobile unit staff at the collection site. They will be responsible for the collection of blood into sample tubes for donor testing and performing the discontinuation of phlebotomy process. They will assist with donor care and post donation instructions, assist with vitals and post-reaction care of the donor, assist with blood and body fluid spills and perform labeling of documents, supplies, and collection sets. The Mobile Operation Assistant (MOA) will operate a 40 foot Medical Mobile Bus (that requires a Class B CDL) to and from the collection site, or operate a car, van or truck to transport all necessary equipment for collection and Medical Mobile Unit staff to and from the site. They will set-up and break-down equipment (e.g. Mobile beds, automated collection devices and kits, tables, totes, etc.), maintain inventory on Medical Mobile Units, replace all permanent and disposable operational supplies to ensure a timely and uninterrupted operation, process collections (strip and segment blood units, pack units for transport), document procedural tasks, and assist with the daily quality control functions.

The Clinical Services Division of Hoxworth Blood Center seeks an experienced Program Director who will support the entire Division administratively and be responsible for the operational and financial management of all the residency/fellowship training programs. This position reports to the Associate Medical Director.
This position will be required to travel between the Hoxworth building, the College of Medicine offices, and the main campus offices as needed. The position requires a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The desired candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of office administrative experience in healthcare and or an education setting.
